New to Storage?
You don’t have to be a self storage expert to rent. We’ll help you get started!
What to Expect for a First-Time Storage Unit Rental
Renting a storage unit is much faster and easier than renting an apartment or car
If you’ve never rented a storage unit before, you might think of other types of rentals. But getting more room at home for your next decluttering project takes very little time or energy. You’ll choose a storage unit online and enter your information – the process usually takes about 90 seconds once you’re ready to rent.
You can also rent over the phone or in person. Once you’ve given payment information, you’ll sign your rental agreement in person or online. The rental agreement outlines facility policies and lets you know when rent’s due, but unlike an apartment lease, it’s month-to-month, so you aren’t getting locked into something you can’t break later.
After that, you’ll need to show a valid government-issued ID (like a driver’s license or passport) to get your gate code. You can do that in person or online! Once you have your gate code, you can move in at any time. Need help finding your storage unit? Our staff can help you!

Packing and Move-In Tips
You don’t have to go in blind. Let our over 50 years of experience make your stay stress-free!
Leave an aisle in your storage unit so you can access boxes easier.
Store boxes with the labels facing out for better visibility.
Use sealed containers and place a bag of moisture absorber in your storage unit to reduce the risk of humidity damage.
You’ll rent on a month-to-month basis, so you can move out without worrying about breaking a lease.
Most items will condense into much less space when placed in boxes and stacked. Measure the dimensions of your belongings, not the whole room!
Make use of vertical space in your storage unit by bringing in shelving from your favorite home goods store.
